About Patrick Jenkinson: Patrick has held leadership roles at significant sports organizations. He was the Vice President of DAZN, the world’s largest live sports streaming platform, before taking on the role as Head of Business Development for Leeds United Football Club. Now, he is the Commercial Director for Venue and E-commerce at Manchester United, overseeing retail, content and subscriptions.
The Professional Distinction in Fund Development is a new credential that MCC students interested in professional fundraising will be able to earn beginning in Fall 2025. The program is an academic credit-bearing credential (stackable with any major) that integrates foundational coursework in key subject areas with practical knowledge and hands-on skills in the fundraising field.
Credential requirements: The credential will combine three disciplinary courses with customized directed study and field practice. Directed study content, created by a professional fundraising consulting firm and delivered by senior fundraising executives, encompasses 18 essential fundraising topics distributed across students’ junior and senior years. These topics will align with identified fund development competency areas and required academic courses. Students also will participate in a fundraising internship, undertake a non-profit experiential learning project, and complete a comprehensive capstone assignment.

Are you ready for a real-world, hands-on entrepreneurial experience that can also earn a scholarship?
The Michigan Campus Community Challenge (M-C3) is a student scholarship competition that incorporates project-based learning and is open to all full-time undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at an MCA member college or university.
MC-3 challenges students (individually or as a team) to develop and present a written concept proposal that aims to:
Be a catalyst for change, an entrepreneur, and contribute to your community while adding valuable project experience to your resume. You can even earn up to $7,500 in scholarship dollars if your concept is chosen as the winner.
The deadline to register is on or before Friday, December 6, 2024. Each team participant must register.

The Cooperative Learning Collaborative (CLC) is an innovative, credit-bearing co-op program that connects students from MCA member colleges and universities with leading companies. In the summer, students participate in a paid internship experience paired with structured, weekly professional development sessions led by industry leaders. In the fall, students participate in a faculty-guided project for their internship company. Students earn academic credit for both the summer and fall programs, and gain real-world experience, professional mentoring, and a certification in professional studies. With CLC, you’ll develop essential career skills, connect with industry professionals, and enhance your resume. This program not only prepares you for success in the workplace, but also opens doors to career opportunities and professional growth.
The next round of the Cooperative Learning Collaborative will be held in summer 2025. MCC can help pair you with a participating CLC employer, or can work with your current internship employer to join the program.
