Student-Athletes have the opportunity to be members of the Student-Athlete Leadership Team; IGNITE is a newly formed program that select students are invited to participate in. In IGNITE, students will take a course with Dr. Douglas B. Palmer, the President of Siena Heights, to learn about high-level leadership thinking and strategy.

Scholarship Symposium Day
The goal of the event is to showcase the scholarship of graduating seniors and other students, and allow faculty, staff, and the community the opportunity to view the outstanding academic achievements happening at Siena Heights. It is free and open to the community.

Siena Heights University SHAPE-STEM Scholars Program
Funded by a $1.5 million National Science Foundation grant, the SHU S-STEM Scholars Program provides low-income STEM majors with financial, academic, and psychosocial support to assist students to graduate and enter the STEM workforce.

IGNITE
Student-athletes can join the student-athlete leadership team called IGNITE. A select few students are invited to the new program and will take a course taught by Dr. Douglas B. Palmer, president of Siena Heights University. The curriculum is centered around high-level leadership and prepares student-athletes to be leaders on campus.

Siena Heights University has several initiatives and programs on campus designed to recognize and appreciate the diversity of its student body, and help students build a community of their peers. These programs include:

  • Student organizations on campus: Pride, Black Student Union (BSU), Association of Hispanic & Latinos, International Student Club
  • Soup & Substance/ Coffee & Conversation: Students discuss topics relevant to their lives and the impact of social issues on students from diverse populations. 
  • Other Activities have included:
    • Black History Month trivia: an interactive game held with students testing knowledge of black history and inviting students to learn more about historical figures and their contributions.
    • Black History 101 Mobile Museum: A mobile museum that visited campus to showcase artifacts dating back to the time of slavery and segregation. 
    • Step Show: A step dance team from Detroit, MI came to campus to educate students on the history of stepping, as well as provide information and demonstrations about Black Greek letter organizations.

Siena Heights University’s undergraduate Online Learning Program was ranked 26th nationally by U.S. News & World Report in 2024.

Siena Heights University’s Business program was recently recognized by College of Distinction as an outstanding and exemplary undergraduate program, specifically for its emphasis on collaborative learning and business ethics.

Prelicensure Nursing graduates earned a 100% first-time pass rate on the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX) in 2022.
